CapMetro bus stop moves due to construction

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The city of Austin is filled with large amounts of construction and a project on Lavaca and 8th will impact the way bus riders can get around.

Starting on Saturday, Capital Metro will temporarily close that bus stop and move it to a new location.  The city is moving it’s construction to the Southeast Corner of of Lavaca and 8th Street to install new wastewater lines, sidewalks, traffic signals and repaving the road.

The new bus stop will move to Lavaca and 9th St and Lavaca and 10th for MetroRapid riders

  • Relocate routes 7 Duval/Dove Springs and 20 Manor/Riverside to Lavaca 9th
  • MetroRapid Route 801 moved to Lavaca & 10th

Construction on the 8th St. Reconstruction project is expected to wrap up in early June.
