AUSTIN (KXAN) — Hundreds of KXAN viewers have emailed beautiful wildflower photos to us this spring. But, though there is no prize involved, the First Warning Weather team says it would probably award first prize to this photo taken during Monday’s thunderstorm in the Round Rock area.

Photographer, storm chaser, and self-described weather nerd Jason Weingart captured the perfect springtime combination–a thunderstorm approaching a field of wildflowers–even framing in a beautiful church for good measure.

Send your wildflower photos to ReportIt@kxan.com, and view our wildflower photo gallery here.

To find out where you can see wildflowers, TxDOT has an interactive map where you can see there the flowers are blooming.
