MANOR, Texas (KXAN) — No charges will be filed against an employee at Manor Elementary School after allegations that the substitute teacher’s aide assaulted a student turned out to be unfounded, Manor ISD police said.
After interviewing witnesses and the alleged victim of the incident, the Manor Police Department and Travis County District Attorney’s Office said they will not pursue charges against the aide.
The aide was suspended after a student said he was physically assaulted on March 28.
“The safety and well being of our students is our top priority,” a statement from Manor ISD read at the time of the alleged assault. “As always, any deviation from this expectation will not be tolerated.”
The student was evaluated by medical staff after the incident was reported, but did not have to go to the hospital.
“All Manor ISD employees undergo extensive background checks and are required to participate in ongoing professional trainings to ensure they are providing the highest level of service for our students and community,” a district spokesperson said.
