House fire in Bastrop destroys home

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Bastrop Fire and Police Departments responded to a house fire on the 400 block of Persimmons Street in Bastrop at 4:18 on Wednesday morning.

The single-story home was engulfed in flames when police and firefighters arrived on the scene. Everyone inside the home had exited and no one was injured as a result of the fire.

Bastrop firefighters were able extinguish the fire by 6:10 a.m. butt the home will likely be a total loss. Bastrop police and the Bastrop Fire Department are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
