Residents get out safely before fire destroys Driftwood home

HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A large fire destroyed a home in Driftwood on Wednesday evening.

According to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, the fire started around 6 p.m. in the 300 block of Rolling Oaks Drive in the Rolling Hills subdivision.

Wimberley, Kyle, Buda and North Hays fire departments all helped with the blaze.

Pictures from the Kyle Fire Department shows black smoke and flames coming from the two-story home.

Residents were home at the time, but everyone was able to get out safely.
