Murder suspect in Kyle stabbing turns himself in

SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) — A man who authorities believe is responsible for killing one man and injuring two others at a party in Kyle last month has turned himself in.

Xavier Wayne Harper, 19, from Buda, is charged with the murder of 20-year-old Ulises Garcia. Hays County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Harper’s arrest last week; Harper turned himself into the Travis County Jail on Monday. He will be transported to Hays County in the next few days.

On March 23, Garcia was at the party in the 100 block of Sunrise Drive when police got the call about several people being stabbed, said Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler.

By the time authorities got there, Garcia and two others had been taken to Seton Medical Center Hays in private cars. Garcia died from his injuries shortly after getting to the hospital, Cutler said.

An investigation by Hays County Sheriff’s Department netted two other arrests.

Onesimo Alvarado, 20, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was arrested Thursday in Kyle. Both charges are second-degree felonies and he remained in jail on $100,000 bond.

Eric Sipriano Romero, 17, was charged with tampering with evidence and purchasing and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Investigators said more arrests could be made in the case.
