FORT WORTH, Texas (NBC/KXAS) — Arsonists targeting cars and trucks in one Texas community thought the cover of darkness would shield them, but they were wrong.

This security camera video shows the arsonists pulling up outside one Fort Worth home overnight and then setting the Ford F-350 parked outside ablaze.

Barking dogs woke up the homeowners, who tried to put out the fire. They then learned they weren’t the only ones targeted.

It turns out firefighters were already in the neighborhood, where at least nine cars were torched.

“And as I’m calling 911 to give them my address that our car’s on fire, the 911 operator goes, ‘Don’t you live at 46?’ And I go, ‘No, I’m 47,’” said Caroline Fralia, whose truck was set on fire. “And she says, ‘Well, we’ve got another fire down there,’ and I thought, ‘Oh, my gosh.’”

There are no arrests yet, but firefighters say the investigation is moving “rapidly.”
