SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) — An arrest warrant has been issued for the man police believe is responsible for killing one man and injuring two others at a party in Kyle, Texas on March 23.
Xavier Wayne Harper, 19, from Buda, is charged with the murder of 20-year-old Ulises Garcia. Harper has not yet been apprehended.
Garcia was at the party in the 100 block of Sunrise Drive when police got the call about several people being stabbed, said Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler.
By the time police got there, Garcia and two others had been taken to nearby Seton Medical Center Hays in private cars. Garcia died from his injuries shortly after getting to the hospital, Cutler said.
An investigation by Hays County Sheriff’s Department netted two other arrests.
Onesimo Alvarado, 20, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was arrested Thursday in Kyle. Both charges are second-degree felonies and he remained in jail on $100,000 bond.
Eric Sipriano Romero, 17, was charged with tampering with evidence and purchasing and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Police say Romero was hosting a party where the assault is alleged to have happened, and police said they found the scene had been ‘intentionally compromised’ when they arrived.
Tampering with evidence is a state jail felony, and Romero was booked into jail with bond set at $21,000.
Investigators said more arrests could be made in the case.
