FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Police searching a trailer hauling watermelons found a little something extra stashed between the fruits.

Fayette County Sheriff officers say they stopped the truck along Interstate 10 near Flatonia about 2 a.m. on Thursday after it committed a traffic violation.

Police said several criminal indicators were observed after talking with the driver and after gaining consent to search the trailer, officers found dozens of marijuana bundles hidden among the shipment.

Authorities removed 47 bundles of marijuana weighing approximately 2,100 pounds. The approximately street value of the marijuana was $925,000.

The driver, 43-year-old Larry Deray Lewis, of Baytown, was arrested for possession of marijuana and taken to the Fayette County jail.
