Surveillance video shows moment Chile quake hit

CHILE (NBC/RTV) — We’ve got dramatic video to show you of the moment that 8.2-magnitude earthquake hit off Chile’s coast Tuesday night.

Drug-store surveillance video caught the moment the quake hit.

It happened as shoppers rushed from the shaking store and products began to fall from the shelves.

At least six people were killed by either heart attacks or being crushed.

Fears of a tsunami forced the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of people from Chile’s coast.

The biggest wave was reported to be about 6 1/2 feet.

The tsunami warning and evacuation orders have now been lifted.

The quake also caused power outages and flight cancellations.
