AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are investigating what happened to a woman found lying and bleeding in the street on Stassney Lane in Southeast Austin early Wednesday morning.

APD got a call just before 3:45 a.m. about the woman, who was bleeding badly.  Austin-Travis County EMS took her to University Medical Center Brackenridge, and they say her injuries may be life-threatening.

Officers have shut down eastbound side of the 5300 block of East Stassney Lane while they investigate. Drivers should detour to Teri Road to reach the other side of the blocked roadway.
