AUSTIN (KXAN) — City Hall renovations begin April 2 and will continue through September of this year. The renovations aim to accommodate the expanded City Council, which will have 11 members.

The expansion comes from the 10-ONE ballot measure that includes 10 geographic council single-member districts plus the mayor. The new council members will officially start in January 2015.

The Office of the City Auditor has moved temporarily from City Hall to 3701 Lake Austin Blvd., and will move again in a few months to a location closer to City Hall.

City Council meetings will be moved to the Travis County Commissioners Court at 700 Lavaca St. and are scheduled to resume in City Hall this October.

Parking and City Hall access will not be affected by the construction. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
