DEL VALLE, Texas (KXAN) — A 37-year-old man is accused of taping steak knives to his hands and threatening family members after he believed they stole a winning lottery ticket from him, according to an arrest affidavit.

The warrant said the suspect taped the knives so that the blades were protruding from between his fingers, similar to “Wolverine,” a character from X-Men.

The suspect thought the others were conspiring against him and started waving the knives in a relative’s face, saying he was going to “get her” if she didn’t give back the winning ticket, the document said.

Police arrived at the Del Valle home at on Fagerquist Road on March 29 around 1 a.m. and detained the man without incident. He was not holding any knives at the time, the affidavit said.

He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, and bond was set at $15,000.
