Austin (KXAN)- Several big events going on Saturday night in downtown Austin could cause big backups. The action is focused near the intersection of Martin Luther King and I-35.

Traffic there could be worse when future events roll into town after roadwork begins Sunday on the new Dell Medical School.

Currently, Red River Street runs where the new Dell Medical School will be built, so crews will move the street over.

Red River street will close on April 12th from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to 15th Street and will remain closed for the rest of the year.

Beginning Sunday, roadwork begins on 15th Street and on April 20th crews will start working on MLK Blvd.

Those streets will remain open, but again traffic delays are expected.
