MANOR, Texas (KXAN) — An employee at Manor Elementary School was suspended after a student said he was physically assaulted on Thursday.

Manor ISD said the employee was a substitute teacher’s aide at the school.

“The safety and well being of our students is our top priority,” a statement from Manor ISD read. “As always, any deviation from this expectation will not be tolerated.”

The aide has not yet been arrested and the investigation into the assault is ongoing.

“All Manor ISD employees undergo extensive background checks and are required to participate in ongoing professional trainings to ensure they are providing the highest level of service for our students and community,” a district spokesperson said.

The student was evaluated by medical staff, but did not have to go to the hospital.
