Georgetown ISD superintendent retires

GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — Georgetown Independent School District Superintendent Joe Dan Lee announced on Monday he will be leaving his position in July.

Lee was the superintendent of schools from 2004 to 2007, and in 2010 he served as the interim superintendent for four months until Georgetown made him a permanent offer.

Throughout his career he passed a $137 million bond, the largest in the school district’s history, added East View High School and passed a four cent Tax Ratification Election in October 2012.

Lee will complete his 39th year serving public schools.
