GRANITE SHOAL (KXAN) — A man who was found guilty of sexually molesting his girlfriend’s daughter for several years will serve two consecutive life sentences in prison, according to the District Attorney’s office.
A jury found Brian Taylor, 37, guilty of two counts of indecency with a child, including a sexual assault occurring in December 2010 in Llano County. Taylor had previously been convicted of sexual abuse in Illinois, so his guilty verdict triggered mandatory life sentences on each count. Judge Dan Mills of the 424th District Court stacked the sentences to ensure Taylor will not be eligible for parole for 70 years.
The girl was 12 years old when she first reported the ongoing abuse.
Granite Shoals Police first learned of the abuse in January 2011, and the victim was then taken to the Hill Country Child Advocacy Center where she was interviewed and she reported the abuse.
