San Marcos employees go bald to support child battling cancer

SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) — No hair? No problem! Especially when it’s for a good cause.

On Friday afternoon, the Mayor of San Marcos along with several other dozen City of San Marcos employees gathered at Fire Station #5 to shave their heads to show their support for five-year-old Waylon Malone, who is battling cancer.

Waylon is the son of Chris and Stacy Malone, a former City employee.

Waylon was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer when he was three and is currently at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis for treatment during an eight month clinical trial.

Waylon and his mother were able to watch the shaving benefit live via Skype from Memphis.
