PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — Two men who lead officers on a high-speed chase on SH 130 on Friday night are in custody.
According to Pflugerville Police Department’s Assistant Chief Jim McLean, it originally started when a homeowner called 9-1-1 around 10 p.m. and said there were two armed men in a backyard on Orchard Park Circle.
Police believe the suspects were trying to gain entry into a home through the back door.
When officers arrived at the home, the suspects were leaving the scene so officers tried to pull them over but the suspects kept on going.
Pflugerville officers followed the suspects from the neighborhood onto SH 130, where the chase picked up speed in the southbound lanes.
Initial information indicates the driver was goig at least 100 mph.
With the help of spike strips laid out by a Travis County Sheriff’s deputy, the suspects ran over the strips and had to stop at SH 130 and Farm to Market 973 around 10:40 p.m.
McLean said they have two suspects in custody but they believe the suspects might have thrown out one of their weapons in the 800 block of Grand Avenue Parkway. Police did recover one weapon from the car.
No one was injured during the chase.
