AUSTIN (KXAN) — Llano-based Cooper’s Old Time Pit Barb-B-Que announced on its Facebook page on Friday that it will open a location in downtown Austin.

The new location will feature live music and a full bar on 217 Congress Avenue, and is set to open in the fall of 2014.

Cooper’s Bar-B-Que serves a variety of meat plates including beef ribs, brisket, sausage, smoked turkey, chicken, and it’s signature “big chop” – a butcher-block of barbeque.

Their post on Facebook to announce the opening of the new location jokingly adds, “we were barbeque before barbeque was cool.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
