Allen Banks sworn in as Round Rock PD’s new chief

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — The City of Round Rock officially has a new police chief.

On Friday, City Manager Steve Norwood swore in new Police Chief Allen Banks at a ceremony at police department headquarters.

Banks comes from Albuquerque, New Mexico where he was also the police chief.

Banks replaces Tim Ryle, who retired in February. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
