AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police say there will be no update on the suspicious death in East Austin until after the autopsy, which should be complete by Friday.

Homicide investigators will wait for the results of the autopsy, which will determine if the death was a homicide, suicide or accidental.

Officers were called to 5805 Brook Valley Dr. at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, where they found a 59-year-old woman dead.

At 1:30 a.m., APD told media the death did not appear to be natural.

“As the investigation progressed, detectives learned there was trauma to the body, and at that point it was deemed suspicious,” said Senior Austin Police Officer Veneza Bremmer.

So far, police have made no arrests and have not said if they have a suspect in mind.

“At this point, there is no public safety threat, and if anyone has any information, please call Crime Stoppers or the Homicide Tip Line,” said Bremmer.

Police records show officers responded to the same home for a disturbance call in January, another disturbance in February, and an assault call this past Monday.
