15-mile-wide Texas fire spreads into Oklahoma

LIPSCOMB COUNTY, Texas (NBC/KAMR) — Firefighters in northern Texas are battling high winds and a wildfire Wednesday morning.

The blaze, burning in Lipscomb County west of Oklahoma City, is estimated to be about 15 miles wide.

People near the Texas town of Higgins have been evacuated as the fire spreads into Oklahoma.

Crews from both Texas and Oklahoma are battling the flames.

There is no word yet on how the fire started or whether any property or homes have been damaged.
