AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 22-year-old man was charged with aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping after he pulled a 10-year-old girl into his apartment and performed lewd acts with the child, according to an arrest affidavit.
The girl told police she was going back to her bus stop in front of her apartment complex along Heatherwilde Boulevard in Pflugerville to see if she had dropped her homework. As she reached down to retrieve her papers, Adrian Joseph Carson pulled her into an apartment, locked the door and then took her into a bedroom, the document said.
The girl said she was kicking, screaming and struggling to get away as Carson pulled down his pants and attempted to force the girl to perform oral sex, according to the affidavit.
Carson also attempted to pull the girl’s pants down, the document said.
When Carson stopped and went to the bathroom, the girl ran from the apartment and back towards her unit, the affidavit said. As she looked back, she said Carson was chasing after her, the warrant said.
The girl was able to flag down her mother, who then called police.
Police said the girl was able to positively pick Carson out of a lineup twice.
The Westchester Woods apartment complex issued a letter to all residents saying they believed the perpetrator was unauthorized to live at the apartment since his name was not listed on the lease. The resident who allowed him to stay there has also been evicted.
Jail records indicate bond was set at $250,000 for each charge.
