99 problems and getting a ticket is one

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Hundreds of Jay Z and Kanye West fans started lining up while most were fast asleep to snag free tickets to see the rappers perform at the start of the Samsung Galaxy concert series.

Organizers started passing out free blue wrist bands at 10 a.m. at the companies exhibit on the corner of 2nd St. and San Jacinto.

“We were at a bar last night, I said I really wanted to get some Jay Z, tickets so we contracted a plan that we would wait until the last bar closed and walk over here,” said Craig Fitzpatrick who is in town for South by Southwest from Washington, D.C.

The word spread like wildfire on Monday on social media with the news that the duo were once again performing together.

In order to get tickets, people had to have a Samsung Galaxy phone and download the new “Milk Music” app.

“We came at like four in the morning,” said Adam Hamze, a University of Texas student. “It hasn’t been too bad. The time goes by quick, but I did wear my Kanye shirt for support.”

By 5 a.m. the line was already around the block. There were just 600 tickets up for grabs.
