Two guys pick simple over lavish life

Most Americans strive to make more money, live in a bigger house and buy better cars. Two best friends had all that, but didn’t want it.

Joshua Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus (a.k.a “The Minimalists”) brought their 100-city world book tour through Austin. They sat down with Erin Cargile Sunday morning on KXAN News Today.

The childhood best friends said goodbye to the “dream life” because the material things left them feeling empty. They packed up their stuff as if they were moving and only took out what they needed to live — which ended up not being much.

The two will be speaking about their journey at South By Southwest Sunday morning. A free book signing follows at Book People on North Lamar Blvd. at 5 p.m. Sunday.
