Thieves targeting gym lockers, stealing keys and cars

If you’re headed to the gym, Austin police are reminding you to be mindful of your belongings after several vehicles have been stolen with keys taken from gym lockers.

According to police, thieves are targeting unlocked lockers containing keys and other personal items in women’s locker rooms in gyms across town.

With the stolen keys in hand, the thieves have stolen vehicles from the gym’s parking lot. Since the beginning of the year, police say 11 vehicles have been stole

The public is reminded to secure their property or keep it with them.
