AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man is in the hospital this morning after crashing an SUV through a wall in North Austin.
At 3:15 a.m., a witness reported seeing an SUV drive at a high rate of speed on Braker Lane and smash into Travis County Fire Control Station #3 at the corner of Interstate 35. The building is not an active fire station, but used for storage.
Officers say the man driving was in his 50’s. He was taken to UMC Brackenridge in serious condition.
The SUV was removed and towed at 5:30 a.m., leaving a gaping hole in the wall and a water pipe broken.
