Austin gets 2nd Bitcoin ATM; It’s at a gun store

AUSTIN (KXAN)- Austin’s second Bitcoin ATM is now online.

It’s located at the Central Texas Gun Works. They introduced their ATM on Sunday during a fundraiser for the Capital Area Food Bank.

It was the first time the food bank has accepted the digital currency. They received $500 in donations.

Owners of Central Texas Gun Works say they wanted to be at the front of the emerging trend.

“This is the way things are going,” said owner Michael Cargill. “Crypto technology; we are going in that direction and bitcoin is here to stay.”

The nation’s first Bitcoin ATM opened in downtown Austin just a couple of weeks ago inside the Handlebar on East Fifth Street.
