AUSTIN (KXAN) — About 50,000 people will flood the University of Texas campus this weekend as part of Explore UT.
The event will include nearly 400 fun and educational activities that parents and kids can take part in.
Kids from more than 100 districts showed up to take part in the events last year, the university says.
School reps say it takes an army of people to help put this event together. About 4,500 students, faculty, and staff will volunteer their Saturday to help out.
“We have different events from all different departments across campus so you can see what it’s like to be an engineer, what it’s like to be in the sciences, humanities,” said Andrew Clark, UT senate president. “There’s a little bit of everything.”
UT has hosted what it calls “The Biggest Open House in Texas” since 1999.
