AUSTIN (KXAN) — A Travis County Sheriff’s unit was rear-ended, sending a deputy to the hospital.

The collision happened at about 1:20 a.m., on Northbound MoPac near 2222. Officials say a driver hit the deputy’s car and both the driver and the deputy were taken to North Austin Medical Center for a medical check. Neither of them suffered any major injuries.

The deputy was not on duty with Travis County, he was working traffic control for construction workers in the area.
