Austin Pets Alive! rescues dog with severe burns

A seven-month-old daschshund-mix will have to go through several months of treatment for burns after Austin Pets Alive rescued it from another shelter on Tuesday.

APA! said Jakey was severely burned in an accident. While his treatment will be an arduous one, the veterinarians believe he will make a full recovery.

Jakey is currently being treated with pain medication, IV fluids and antibiotics.

Once he gets better, Jakey will stay with a foster parent before he is able to be put up for adoption.

APA! is accepting donations for Jakey’s care. You can find out more information on Jakey, donating or sponsoring a pet.
