Runners get ‘naked’ to go green in Beijing

BEIJING (CNN) — In China, more than 300 runners stripped down to their underwear for a “naked” run in Beijing.

The event was meant as a protest to raise awareness of the city’s poor air quality and ongoing problems with smog.

The problem is apparently so bad that some organizations in the city are taking extreme measures: The International School of Beijing has just spent $5 million to build two huge domes to enclose all of the school’s outdoor areas.

Until a different solution surfaces, other schools, sports facilities and even wealthy people are said to be placing orders for their own domes, too. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
