Bomb investigation at Lakeline Mall cleared

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Bomb Squad has cleared the bomb threat reported at Lakeline Mall on Friday morning.

Mall security called APD after they noticed suspicious wiring coming from a customer’s car. Authorities closed off the south parking lot near Dillard’s and Sears and the entrance to the mall by Jarred Jeweler’s during the investigation.

The Austin Police Bomb Squad, EMS special operations unit and HAZMAT declared the situation all clear after a customer came out and said the wiring was just their electronics.
