Woman survives violent wreck with train

DES PLAINES, Ill. (NBC) — A woman walked away without any injuries after a train crashed into her car in Des Plaines, Ill.

Police say the driver tried to turn onto a road when she lost traction on the snow-covered road on Monday.

The woman then tried to back up from the tracks when the gates and signals activated.

As you can see in the cell phone video, that is when the train slammed into the front driver’s side of the 2005 Ford Taurus — causing the car to spin around before slamming into a railroad crossing pole.

Miraculously, the driver walked away unharmed.
