Sochi Winter Olympic mascot’s head is too big

ROSA KHUTOR, Russia (NBCNC) — Nothing epitomizes the Olympic games more than overcoming adversity, never giving up, and making the impossible possible.

But sometimes you just have to admit when you’ve been defeated.

One of the Sochi Winter Olympic mascots learned that the hard way on Friday while trying to leave the Sanki Sliding Center after a long day’s work.

Unfortunately, the polar bear’s head was too big to fit in the passenger-side door of an Olympic car.

Being the champion that he his, the bear tried over and over again to squeeze in, but sometimes you just can’t fit a square peg into a round hole.

The mascot may have suffered a some embarrassment, but there’s always the 2018 games in Pyeongchang to look forward to. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
