Firefighters battle blaze at condos in Northwest Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin firefighters battled a fire that broke out at the Arcadian Condominiums located at 9226 Jollyville Road in Northwest Austin late Tuesday night.

An unattended candle started the fire in the two-story structure around 10:30 p.m.

When firefighters arrived on scene, there was heavy fire coming from the second floor of one of the buildings.

By 12 a.m., firefighters had put out the fire and cleared the scene.

A total of 8 condos were affected by the fire. 1 person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and 9 people were displaced from their homes.

APD estimates they suffered $250,000 in structural damages and $100,000 contents.
