Police dog searches for suspects in South Austin

Police lights

A business alarm in South Austin set off a search for two suspects early Monday morning.

Austin police officers responding to the alarm at a building on Slaughter Lane, near South First Street saw two people running, and thought they were suspicious.

The officers called for a K-9 unit to help with the search for the two people.  APD took one person into custody within about 30 minutes, but officers have not found the second suspect.

A watch commander did not specify whether a crime actually occurred at the business, only that there may be extra police presence in the area through the morning.
