Police searching for vehicle that hit cyclist

Hit and run

CEDAR PARK (KXAN) – Police are searching for information following a hit-and-run that sent one man to the hospital early Saturday morning.

Officers were dispatched to East Whitestone Blvd.  and Vista Ridge Blvd after receiving reports that a man was lying in a ditch near the road. They found that 28-year-old Andrew Jensen was riding his bicycle in the 2000 block of Whitestone when he was hit by a car that left the scene. Jensen was taken to Seton Williamson Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the crash occurred at about 4:30 Saturday morning. The investigation indicates that a 2012 or 2012 gray Jeep Liberty was headed westbound on East Whitestone when it struck the bike ridden by Jensen. Police continue to search for the Jeep and say it likely has damage to the passenger side fender and is missing the passenger side mirror.

If you have any information that could help identify the car or driver involved in this collision, please call Cedar Park Police Officer Waylan Adams at 512-260-4760 or Investigator Mike McCann at 512-260-4790.
