Man proposes with computer built from scratch

AUSTIN (KXAN) — It’s a proposal that will forever be stored in memory, especially since this bit involved the motherboard of all of them: a computer made from scratch.

Laying his firewall down, Carlos Izaguirre proposed to his girlfriend Jessica using this custom-built computer — with help from local business Advanced Micro Devices.

After hearing Izaguirre’s ingenious idea, AMD chipped in to be a part of the action.

Izaguirre says both he and his girlfriend are computer geeks and really into technology. He etched an acrylic sheet with the big question: “Will you marry me?”

Red LED lights lit up the computer tower, almost sending this plan into overdrive. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
