Daredevils fall from tightrope walk between hot air balloons

PRE-PYRENEES, Spain (NBC/RTV) — Some daredevils tried something Thursday that’ll probably take your breath away.

Two extreme athletes from France tried to walk between two hot air balloons.

They used a slackline, or tight chord, that was tied to the balloons.

They were about 1,600 feet up in the air in the Pyrenee Mountains in Spain.

In the end, the pair literally fell short of their goal. Both landed safely with the help of parachutes.

The attempt was made on Feb. 1, and since it was posted on social media it’s had more than 700,000 views.

The athletes say they’re already planning another attempt when there’s calm weather.
