HUTTO, Texas (KXAN) — A fiery crash in front of Hutto High School injured one person and briefly locked down the school as authorities responded to the scene.
Authorities responded to the two-car collision at Ed Schmidt Boulevard and U.S. Highway 79 just after 1 p.m. When they arrived, they found a Toyota Tundra in flames. The occupants of the car had already safely exited the vehicle.
One of the people involved in the crash was transported to the hospital.
The Hutto Fire Department was able to extinguish the flames from the car and a small grass fire that flared up after the flames spread from the car.
A Hutto ISD spokesperson said no students or staff were involved in the crash.
