BUCYRUS, Missouri (NBC/KSHB) — The freezing cold winter probably has a lot of people feeling like Eskimos.
One Bucyrus, Mo., man knows a little bit about living like one.
Andy Ross’s daughter talked him into building igloos a few years ago after she saw the neighbors doing it.
So Ross didn’t just build her an igloo. He created a work of art.
This igloo complex has three rooms, and it’s where they gather by the fire to roast marshmallows.
Building it takes more than just precision. It takes endurance.
He created this structure with about 210 snow blocks, each weighing 30 to 40 pounds. It took him almost a week — working four- to five hours every night in single-digit weather.
But he says it’s worth it for the memories.
