PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — You might see 14-year-old Jonathan Gray Jr.’s picture with a large bass and think there’s something fishy with the photo, perhaps even wonder if it’s doctored.

But Texas Parks and Wildlife officials confirm this is a record fish — all 10.2 pounds of it.

Jonathan Gray sent in the photo of his son with the big catch from Lake Pflugerville using the ReportIt feature. Gray says the fish measured 26 inches long.

The dynamic duo took advantage of the pleasant weather and hit the lake throughout the weekend, hard to believe now amid freezing temperatures and chilly winds thanks to the arrival of another Arctic front this week.

Another Arctic front arrived Monday morning, and temperatures in many areas are forecast to rise just above freezing Tuesday afternoon — resulting in drizzle and light rain remaining in liquid form.

The weather system will move east of the area Tuesday night, and dry weather is expected to follow Wednesday through the weekend.

Temperatures will once again warm above normal, with highs in the middle 60s again by Thursday and in the 70s Friday through Monday — perhaps just warm enough for the Grays to test the waters of Lake Pflugerville again.
