An Austin business continues to clean up after a driver ran right through the front of their store.
It happened late last month. Sources say a driver ran a red light and lost control. The vehicle ran into Parts and Labour, a store on South Congress specializing in local art and handmade goods
The owners say the crash hurt business. Without the driver’s insurance picking up the cost of damage yet, they are fronting the cost themselves but have seen a quick decline in sales due to customers thinking they are undergoing construction.
“We don’t have the merchandise available for customers who are asking for it,” said owner Lizelle Villapando. “Artists don’t have the funds to immediately replenish you know 12 dozen shirts that were lost. So I don’t know what we’re going to do.”
The store supports local artists by only selling goods made in Texas.
They also donate most of their profits to Austin Pets Alive.
