The Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of a house fire in the 2900 block of Centennial Olympic Park, near Stenier Ranch Road.

Lake Travis Fire Rescue was dispatched to the scene shortly before 2:00 a.m. Saturday. Two people made it out of the house safely, and firefighters rescued three cats inside.

Fire crews found a large fire in the garage when they arrived. Officials say the blaze spread to the second floor and roof. Firefighters began to fight the fire from outside the house, then moved inside. They were then forced out by a roof collapse.

AFD, Travis County Sheriff’s Office, and Austin/Travis County EMS assisted Lake Travis crews. No injuries were reported, and damage estimates are still pending. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
