A group dedicated to improving traffic flow around the Austin area was searching for public input Saturday.

Project Connect wants you to get around Austin easier — driving, busing, biking or walking.

Folks came to check out their various ideas on transit service. People say we need more options — but they know it’ll  cost money.

“It’s wonderful, it’s needed but we have to figure out how to pay for it,” said concerned citizen Kat Malcom. “And how much of it is going to be in taxes and off the backs of the citizens and the residents and you know federal money.”

Among the proposals, Project Connect wants to link greater Austin with commuter rail, urban rail, and express lanes down major highways. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
