On Saturday the Clinical Education Center at Brackenridge held its 23rd Annual Mock Surgery & More event.

It’s behind-the-scenes access for curious adults and kids.

They could watch simulated surgeries, handle surgical instruments, and speak with medical professionals.

“Just to see the twinkle in their eyes as you go through here, you’ll see them, they listen very intently as we show them what we do,” said Nurse Educator Elois Currivan. Sparking that interest is one thing that will maybe catch up with them as they get out of college and decide to go into the medical profession.”

The event was started to alleviate the fear many have about operating rooms.
