MARBLE FALLS (KXAN) — Marble falls banned smoking in grocery stories, they say in order to “adhere to city code.”

City officials said the smoke ban will only apply to grocery stores. Smoking will still be allowed in restaurants or convenience stores, following city code.

The ordinance says it is illegal to smoke in any grocery store within the city limits of Marble Falls. A grocery store may establish certain designated areas where smoking is allowed, but  it can’t be near any area where food is stored, eating areas or checkout counters.

The fine for violating this provision will be between $10 and $500 dollars.
