WARREN, Michigan Police Dept. (NBC/WDIV) — A Warren, Mich., police officer has lost her job after cutting the hair of a woman in police custody.

This is police surveillance tape of Charda Gregory of Detroit, who was arrested for allegedly damaging a motel room and a police car.

Police video shows Officer Bernadette Najor cutting Gregory’s hair weave while Gregory is restrained in a chair.

She reportedly did it to reduce the risk of suicide.

Charges against Gregory were eventually dismissed.

Meanwhile, Najor was first suspended amid the incident but has since been fired.
